Learning

We offer a comprehensive range of subjects at PVGC. Students in Middle School (Years 7-9) study English, Mathematics, Humanities, Science and Health/PE as part of the core program. In addition, they experience a range of different subjects each semester including Art (Visual, Drama & Music), Technology (Digital, Design & Food), Languages (Italian and Japanese). There are also specific programs at each year level designed to develop students’ skills in different areas such as Numeracy (Years 7-9), Reading (Year 7), Discovery (Year 8) and City Experience (Year 9).

As students move into the Senior School (Years 10-12), through an extensive course counselling process, they start to cater their subject selection towards their chosen pathway. We offer more than 20 VCE subjects including Literature, Specialist Mathematics, Sociology, Physics, Product Design, Hospitality and Music Performance. VCE students also have the option to complete the Vocational Major program, which includes Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related and Personal Development Skills as well as an external VET (Vocational Education and Training) subject.

All year levels also benefit from our Connect program, which is a weekly session focusing on social and emotional wellbeing including Respectful Relationships.
