Year 10 & 11 Melbourne University winter enrichment program
Our talented Year 10 and 11 Studio Arts students were provided with the opportunity to participate in the Melbourne University Graduate School of Education four-day Winter Enrichment Program during the July School holidays.
Participating students were;
Year 10 Tiare, Khadija, Tahrey and Mona
Year 11 Kartika and Alex
The program aims to expose participating students to:
• An engaging and relevant undergraduate subject in the arts area
• What it is like to study at university level
• Current undergraduate students studying at the University of Melbourne
• The MGSE Breadth program
• University life more widely.
‘Throughout my experience at Melbourne University’s Winter Enrichment Program, I learnt many things you can’t learn anywhere else about the arts industry. I found myself heavily inspired by interacting with students all ages from both high school and university. Despite the age gaps, we all connected easily which made the experience much more interesting.’
‘The Melbourne university winter enrichment program was extremely fun, you got to interact with not only high school students but also university students all who had a similar interest in the arts. It was really interesting doing some things like drama, music or visual arts that we weren’t necessarily confident in as it allowed us to explore and learn even more about the arts and find other ways that we as students can express ourselves creatively with.’
It was great for me to see our students interacting with university and other secondary school students. The organiser praised the PVGC students’ creative abilities, maturity and enthusiasm.
